Lady Hatter is an Honorary President of the University of Haifa. She and her family have been generously supporting the University over the last several decades through student scholarships, marine sciences research, the Hatter Student Building and many other programmes including Holocaust Studies. Lady Hatter received an Honorary Doctorate from the University in 2014.
Peter is senior advisor at an investment advisory firm and serves as Director of various companies such as New World Resources, one of Europe’s leading mining companies and RPG Real Estate. He and his wife Gyongyver received an honorary doctorate from the University of Haifa in 2016 for their significant contribution to the advancement of higher education in Israel and beyond. Peter established the Kadas Green Roofs Ecology Research Centre at the University and the Kadas – Isaacs Endowment Fund for Mediterranean Sea Research.
Walter is one of the world’s leading geneticists and Head of the Cancer and Immunogenetics Laboratory at the University of Oxford. He was one of the pioneers of the human genome project and a key figure in establishing the Institute of Evolution at the University of Haifa. In 2015 he received an honorary doctorate from the University of Haifa for his significant scientific contributions.
Simon is a Professor of Developmental Psychopathology at the University of Cambridge and Fellow at Trinity College, Cambridge. He is Director of Cambridge’s Autism Research Centre and of Cambridge Lifespan Asperger Syndrome Service. He authored many books and has been awarded prestigious prizes for his research into autism. Simon has also supported collaborative research with the University of Haifa’s Psychology Department.
Hana is a Human Resources professional and is an active supporter of educational and agricultural research in the peripheries of Israel. She has worked on projects dealing with unemployed, young people and disadvantaged adults and together with her husband Brian Smouha, has greatly supported life sciences at the University of Haifa. She is also a collector of turned wood and British modern paintings.
Russell is a Partner in Milbank’s Tax Group, covering all areas of domestic and international corporate taxation. He is involved with various charities and is passionate about supporting higher education and strengthening Israel, where he has a home.
Efrat is a qualified solicitor and has a PhD in International Relations, specialising in Israeli foreign policy towards Iran. She is the granddaughter of Meir Ezri, Founder of the Ezri Centre for Iran and Persian Gulf Studies at the University of Haifa. Efrat and her mother sit on the board of this nationally important research centre.
Ronnie, a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales, is a leading expert in employment and partnership law. He founded the multi-disciplinary Association of Partnership Practitioners, of which he is now President. He was educated at the City of London School and Lincoln College, University of Oxford.
Ronit joined the University of Haifa UK in 2013 as Associate Director and was appointed to Managing Director in 2017. She is a qualified lawyer and holds a LLB in Law and BA in Media and Communication Studies from Tel-Aviv University.
Cherry is a seasoned fundraiser, consultant and development professional with over three decades of experience. She has worked with many UK charities and holds a BA in Modern Languages from the University of Oxford.
Naama manages the University of Haifa UK’s communications including trusts & foundations, alumni relations and marketing. Prior to that she held various project management roles in charities and private companies.
